This incredible destination wedding, brought to us by Melissa Mercado Photography, is positively magical! Here’s Melissa to tell us more:
In the heart of the Mexican jungle and on the turquoise coast of the Caribbean Sea, there is a unique spot: Xcaret, a majestic park by the sea that offers the beauty of the Riviera Maya as well as the legacy of the Mayan culture and the traditions of Mexico.
See more after the cut!
For more than ten centuries, Xcaret was one of the most important ports of call and Mayan ceremonial centers. Today, it is the number one destination for those who visit the Riviera Maya. Christel and Jose chose this sacred and unique destination as the perfect place to exchange their vows and say, “I do!” in paradise surrounded by their closest family and friends.
They met in this little slice of paradise, Playa del Carmen, in the summer of July 2011 and have been together for three years. Jose Ignacio proposed in San Francisco as they love to travel together and explore the world by each other’s side. Christel and Jose enjoyed their “getting ready” at the luxurious Grand Velas resort, an oasis of serenity and luxury.
Christel looked absolutely stunning in her princess-style, lace embroidered wedding gown and veil. Jose looked just as handsome in a white dress shirt and beige slacks, perfect for a tropical destination wedding.
The Catholic ceremony was held in the the stunning chapel, St. Francis of Assisi, on the Xcaret park premises. After the beautiful ceremony, the couple and their fifty guests enjoyed an elaborate sit-down dinner, dancing, violinists, delectable desserts and more. The evening ended with an amazing showcase of fireworks – the perfect ending to a simply magical day.
Congratulations Christel & Jose and thank you Melissa for sharing! For more information about Melissa Mercado Photography, please visit her WeddingLovely Vendor Guide profile or head straight to her website.
