This elegant, two-sided wedding invitation suite comes to us from Lydia Evans of Letterpress by Lydia, based in Chicago, IL! Here’s Lydia to tell us more:
The couple is American and Italian and they were married in Italy, in a 12th century stone church (which I drew for their invitation illustration), within the ancient walled city of Monteriggioni.
See more after the cut!
The invitations are duplexed so Italian is on one side, and English is on the other … and they’re double thick, which everyone loves! The reception card was also bilingual and duplexed, and there were two sets of RSVP cards.
The belly band is a vintage map a travel book from the bride’s family that I scanned and printed on fine paper with a monogram and heart to mark their wedding site in Siena.
All were printed by hand on my vintage 1850’s Gordon letterpress with a foot treadle, so I am the motor and print each piece by hand to create the impression into the paper. All stock is 100% cotton rag (recycled cotton), so it’s completely tree-free. The ink colors were mixed by hand to match the bride and groom’s wedding colors.
Lovely work, thanks Lydia! For more information about Letterpress by Lydia, please visit her WeddingLovely Vendor Guide profile or head straight to her website.
